1.
|
Turn the motorcycle
ignition to off and disconnect the battery for safety. |
|
2.
|
Remove body panels
as required to gain access to the front turn signal wiring harnesses. This
will enable routing of the Blinksafe Indicator Assembly wire and the Wiring
Harness wires. The motorcycle's front turn signal wiring harnesses will
be connected to the left and right turn signal lamp wires. |
|
3.
|
Identify the positive (+) wire and negative (-) or ground wire in the front turn signal wiring harnesses near the left and right turn signal lamps. Label with masking tape if needed. Consult your dealer, repair manual, or repair shop for assistance if needed. |

4.
|
Identify a desired location for the Blinksafe Indicator Assembly either on the mirrors or on the mirror struts. An ideal location is one where the Blinksafe Indicator Assembly will be in your peripheral field of view when you are watching the road ahead of you. The Blinksafe Indicator Assembly lamps should be aimed toward your eyes to ensure visibility while riding during the day. |

|
Split the conductors of the Blinksafe Indicator Assembly wires and strip about ½" of the insulation. The silver colored wire is the positive (+) wire and the copper colored wire is the negative (-) wire. Note: The Blinksafe Indicator Assembly wires are long enough to fit most motorcycles. If your motorcycle requires longer wires contact us via email at info@blinksafe.com. |

|
Remove a short section of insulation from the left front turn signal wiring harness positive (+) and negative (-) wires. Splice the stripped back wires of the Blinksafe Indicator Assembly wires to the bare section of the turn signal wiring harness wires. Solder the splice for a more permanent connection. |

7.
|
Repeat
step 6 with the right front turn signal wiring harness. |
|
|
8.
|
Wrap
the splices with electrical tape. |
|
9.
|
Reconnect the battery
and turn the motorcycle ignition to on to supply power to the turn signals. |
|
10.
|
Test the Blinksafe
Indicators by turning on the Left Turn Signal. The Blinksafe Indicator on
your left mirror should flash in unison with the left turn signal lamp.
Repeat with the Right Turn Signal to check the Blinksafe Indicator mounted
to your right mirror. |
|
11.
|
Once the Blinksafe
Indicators are connected and working, temporarily mount the indicators to
your mirrors or mirror struts and aim the lamps toward your eyes when you
are in the riding position on your motorcycle. Turn on your turn signals
to make sure you can see the lamps when you focus on the road ahead. |
|
12.
|
After confirming
a good mounting location, apply one of the adhesive backed Velcro pads to
the mounting location on your bike and apply the other to the back of the
Blinksafe Indicator. The Velcro pads are sized to completely cover the back
of the Blinksafe Indicator. It is most important that the Velcro pad covers
the rounded back side of the Blinksafe Indicator to allow you to adjust
the aim of the indicator lamps. During bright days the indicator lamps should
be aimed directly toward your eyes. At night you may want to aim the lamps
away from your eyes slightly to lessen the intensity of the lamps. You may
trim the Velcro pads as needed or desired. |

The Blinksafe Indicator
wire may be formed or folded to follow the contour of your fairing or motorcycle
body panels. If you wish to secure the wire permanently, apply clear silicone
adhesive or caulking to attach the wire to your motorcycle. |
